A Trip Around Makati City

I'm no stranger to this city because... Well, it's where I live. My favorite kulot (hihi), Fay Mosquera, needed to take photos of famous landmarks in Makati, so I accompanied her and served as her tour guide!

We went to Ayala Avenue first. This place is known for its developed buildings and establishments, which is why it's also called the Makati Central Business District. Even if I regularly pass by these streets - especially if there's school - I still find myself fascinated over the urban yet calming feel that this city brings.

Inside the Greenbelt Chapel. Hi, Fay!
View of SM Makati. This photo is too disturbingly blue.
Glorietta 4 (This photo was taken on a different day, if you may have noticed the different posters. HAHA.)
We also went inside ArtistSpace, a small part of the Ayala Museum. The artworks on display showcased different wood carvings, along with photos of the recent Sinulog Festival.

These are painted on the walls of an entire footbridge. If you're into graffiti and bursts of colors, you better check it out!

We also passed by Ayala Triangle and Philippine Stock Exchange, which I (sadly) have no photos of. This is what the walkway there looks during the day (photo in the left), and at night (photo on the right). The Zuellig Building is also seen in the second photo.

After roaming around Ayala, we went to Circuit Makati. It's a huge place, but as of now it's still under construction. Only the open grounds, Gatorade-Chelsea Blue Pitch, skate park, and City Kart racing are the only ones open to the public.

This is where most music festivals are held in Manila. I'm kinda expecting Vanessa Hudgens to suddenly appear here! No? Ok...
The Blue Pitch, my personal favorite!
That's the texture. It is like an enormous bathroom rug.

NO ONE WAS HERE. It was literally deserted.

That wraps up Day 1! It was pretty tiring, but Day 2 was much, much more exhausting.

Fay and I went back to Ayala because she wanted to take a picture of the Ayala Museum, that of which I also have no photos of! It was scorching hot, so I just stayed at one corner while waiting for her to take her shots. LOL.

We visited a few cafes along the way - Makati is known for its "hole in the walls", after all. Click the name of each cafe to know more about them!

I edited this photo using my phone... I'm sorry, I know it looks gross but it has an appealing interior!

Next was our hunt for this place called The Collective. I haven't been there, and I badly wanted to check out the graffiti inside B-Side! After one jeepney ride, a dozen of people whom we asked for directions, and about half an hour of walking under the blazing sun, we finally arrived.

There was barely anyone in the place except for some guards and salesmen, which was great! We freely roamed around and took photos. The Collective is a place where people come together to appreciate art, music, unique finds, and just everything else in between.

Different events are held in B-Side, such as Fliptops, concerts, art shows, etc. The place usually comes alive at night, and maybe that was why no one was there in the middle of the day.

Oh, look. That's me in my usual haggard self.

What else is in The Collective? Aside from some dope graffiti and tons of stickers, independent stores and restaurants such as Skitzo Manila, Ritual, Longboard Manila, BAMM, Wingman, etc. are also found inside.

What we really anticipated to see was an art gallery called Vinyl on Vinyl. Sadly, the guard told us that Vinyl on Vinyl wasn't situated in The Collective anymore... And since I was "craving" for some sort of museum lovin', my heart was crushed upon hearing that from manong. Going through the heat was a waste of effort. Oh well, anyway! To know more about The Collective, click this!

Lastly, we went to Century City Mall, a recently-opened mall in Makati. I guess people go here for the view and to try out restaurants that can only be found in this place.

I didn't feature a bunch of other great places here, but that's already for you to find out! Give Makati a visit, will you? My fingers are crossed in hopes of you falling in love with it too. x
